Snowflake Banner Making at the Blossom Block Holiday Market

Help brighten up Bethel for the winter! Join us to make some community snowflake banners for downtown Bethel this Saturday,  December 16, at the Blossom Block Holiday Market on Main Street.  We welcome people to stop by from 10-12 for 15 to 30 min to add to our project. Each snowflake that falls is unique and different, depending on where and when it develops. Just one doesn’t have much of an impact, so we need your help. Lets create simple snowflakes that will cluster together in a creative blizzard  to show how  Bethel is a unique and vibrant community. This is fun for adults and young people who can use scissors.

Paint & Picnic in the Park!

Screen Shot 2017-07-06 at 10.15.42 PM.png

free ice cream...arts bus...games...music

Bethel’s giant retaining wall will soon be home to a giant mural of our native rainbow trout. Join us for a painting party and bring these fish to life.

Vermont mural artist Mary Lacy designed the fish, which will be painted on plywood and mounted on the wall. We need lots of hands to help paint the pieces – no artistic experience necessary! Put on some old clothes and join your neighbors to make some art and celebrate summer in Bethel. We’ll have Bethel Cornhole & lawn games, free ice cream and free t-shirt making with the Arts Bus (2:30-4:30). Stay as long as you want and pack a picnic if you like. We’ll also have a sneak preview of the other art projects.

RAIN OR SHINE... but we'll likely move location if rain is predicted. Check this site by 10 AM on Saturday July 15 for updates.

Bethel Beautification Day

We all benefit from a beautiful town. Let's make it shine together.

One of the recommendations from Bethel Better Block is to focus on beautification and aesthetic improvements.

Saturday Work Sessions

Come help rake, plant and spiff up Bethel on our first Bethel Beautification Day! Lots of volunteers needed for a fun and productive work day.

  • Peavine Park Planting: Meet at 10 AM at the Park to plant bulbs and flowers and clean up. Perennial donations welcome!
  • Downtown Beautification: Meet at 1 PM at Cockadoodle to help cleanup flower beds, hang wayfinding signs, and clean sidewalks.

Bring tools, work gloves and wear old clothes! Contact Lisa Campbell (lcampbell43@comcast.net) or Lisa Warhol (leswarhol@gmail.com) if you have questions or to donate plants.

Kids Activities & Free Pizza for Volunteers!

Bring the family and join the party downtown Saturday afternoon.

  • Thanks to AARP Vermont for sponsoring Cockadoodle Pizza for hungry afternoon volunteers!
  • The Arts Bus will be downtown, offering FREE mask-making and improv theater activities for kids, at the new pop-up theater from 1-3.
